I stole this from my darling Em @ Em’s Permanent Ink.
The graphic is also from Em’s post because they make the prettiest graphics for their posts and I want to pass it around so more people see the pretty thing.
MUSHU (MULAN) / OLAF+SVEN (FROZEN) – NAME YOUR FAVORITE HILARIOUS CHARACTER OR YOUR FAVORITE FUNNY BOOK!
Two books that I think are funny, all while still dealing with serious topics, are THE UPSIDE OF UNREQUITED by Becky Albertalli and THE SUMMER OF JORDI PEREZ by Amy Spalding! Both of the main characters (Molly and Abby) are hilarious and wonderfully relatable.
THE SEVEN DWARFS (SNOW WHITE) – FAVORITE GROUP / ENSEMBLE
Team Sidewinder from Abigail Roux’s CUT & RUN and SIDEWINDER series have long been my favorite ensemble cast. My darling Nick O’Flaherty is the inspiration for my username on most social media, and the entire cast is just incredible. And who doesn’t love a cast of characters that only contains one token nonqueer? Still holding out hope that one day soon Roux will come back to continue the SIDEWINDER series! *fingers crossed*
PASCAL (TANGLED) – NAME A BOOK THAT STARTED OUT ONE WAY BUT CHANGED FOR YOU
One book that turned on unexpectedly was JULIET TAKES A BREATH by Gabby Rivera. So many people had talked it up for so long that I was really excited about it when I got a chance to read it. And I did enjoy the diversity and overall growth that Juliet goes through, but the book and it’s feminism was so ciscentric to the point of being transmisic that I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to.
MEEKO (POCAHONTAS) – NAME A PLOT TWIST THAT YOU DID NOT SEE COMING
The ending of TRICK ROLLER by Cordelia Kingsbridge, holy fuck. I was expecting something to happen because we obviously were about to be left on a cliffhanger, but I literally screamed when I read the end of this book.
RAJAH (ALADDIN) / FLOUNDER (THE LITTLE MERMAID) – NAME YOUR FAVORITE BEST FRIEND IN A NOVEL
Gavin, Simeon, and Marcus from ILLEGAL CONTACT and DOWN BY CONTACT by Santino Hassell. I adore how these three look out for each other and are loyal to the end. And they’re all so adorable together and not afraid to show their love for each other. I love it.
LOUIS (THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG) / SEBASTIAN (THE LITTLE MERMAID) / COGSWORTH, LUMIERE MRS. POTTS AND CHIP (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) – NAME A NOVEL WHERE MUSIC PLAYED A BIG PART OR MADE YOU WANT TO SING ITS PRAISE
MY YEAR OF EPIC ROCK by Andrea Pyros! This YA novel is super cute and more people should read it. The book is about a girl struggling when her best friend becomes part of the popular group but she doesn’t, and she gets relegated to the Allergies Table at lunch time, where she meets the other kids with allergies and they decide to form a band and perform in the talent show.
MAXIMUS (TANGLED) – NAME A CHARACTER THAT FACES A LOT OF OBSTACLES
I’m copying Em again but my sweet son Laurent St. Savoy from EMPTY NET by Avon Gale. My poor darling is abused, mentally and physically, by his father and he struggles so hard to get out from under him. He’s also got other things that he’s able to work through, with the support of Isaac and the rest of the team, but he goes through so much before he finally gets his happy ending.
HAMISH, HUBERT AND HARRIS (BRAVE) – FAVORITE FAMILY DYNAMICS IN A NOVEL
I love the dynamics of the Calvers in Erica Cameron’s ASSASSINS duology! Even though they live as assassins, they’re so loving and caring and would do anything to protect each other. The family dynamic is even more interesting when contrasted against the family of the main character from book one.
RAY (THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG) / 3 FAIRIES (SLEEPING BEAUTY) – BOOK THAT MOST IMPACTED YOUR LIFE
It’s really difficult to choose just one, but a book that was vital to who I am today is HOT HEAD by Damon Suede. I read it when I was a freshman in college, at the recommendation of one of the people I was friends with at the time, and it was the first book with two queer main characters I ever read. I’d read a few books in the past that had queer secondary characters, and at that point, I’d also read JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which had one book with a queer main character at the time, but nothing that had both mains be queer. It was one of the first books that got me started thinking that maybe I might be queer too.
HEI HEI (MOANA) – NAME A CHARACTER THAT STEALS THE SHOW
Razor from BISHOP’S MOVE by Piper Vaughn and Santino Hassell. I love everything about my favorite pansexual hacktivist and I am DYING for his book!
GUS AND JAQ (CINDERELLA) – NAME YOUR FAVORITE OR WORST OPPOSITE ATTRACTS PAIRING
Aiden and Shannon from FORTITUDE SMASHED, and Chelsea and Daisy from CURVED HORIZON, both by Taylor Brooke! All four of these characters are incredible, and it’s so wonderful to see how they clash at the beginning but, ultimately, find common ground and are able to see that they’re meant to be together.
