This short story is just as precious and fun as the first in the series!
S&S is a kind of prequel to Something to Remember, and it shows us a brief glimpse into a day in the life of Sky as a park ranger as well as some sexual and domestic moments between them and Emma, their girlfriend.
I love the easy domesticity that Junkyard illustrates with these two characters. They are both so at home with each other and are incredibly supportive in a steady, confident way, which I love to see in general, but especially in established relationships.
Once again, Elliott Junkyard manages to, somehow, strike the perfect balance in such a short format! I cannot wait to see more from him in the future.
Elliott Junkyard left behind a life of unfulfilling customer service drudgery to live in the mountains and write, make art, and grow an herb garden. It’s working out pretty well so far. He writes queer books about queer people falling in love and sometimes those people are also pirates.
